How you can conserve water
Water for All gives more people access to clean water. You can also contribute by cutting back on your daily water consumption. Conserving water means that you also cut back on power usage and chemicals used to purify water and wastewater.
When you brush your teeth
Turn off the water when you brush your teeth and save 95 liters of water a month.
Leaky faucets
Fix leaky faucets. A leaky faucet can cost thousands of liters of water a year.
Fill up the dishwasher
Never run the dishwasher half full. Fill it and you save water.
Do you wash your dishes by hand? Do not wash under running water. The average flow of water from a kitchen faucet is 5 liters/minute.
Shower instead of taking a bath
It takes about 140 liters of water to fill a bathtub. Showering uses considerably less water.
