Water for All in Czech republic

About us

Lack of drinking water is not typical only for underdeveloped countries. In some places and on some occasions it is also the case in industrialized countries. One very good example is the floods period where lack of clean drinking water is one of the immediate impacts.

Each year sees hundreds of people without a place to stay, without electricity and without drinking water. Atlas Copco employees are not indifferent and want to help. As people in the Czech Republic would like to help actively and take part in a local activity they decided to provide help during the floods.

Next to helping in the field (provide drinking water and necessary equipment, lessen the negative effects of the floods etc.) we are raising funds which will be distributed in the areas hit by floods.

Event which touches and unites people (the whole nation)

Not as much organizational work needed from our side compared to running our own project
Not many other possibilities to help if we want to involve more people and do so occasionally (It will not be helpful to an NGO having a different person each week as they must offer some training to the volunteers).

There are two ways of contributing to the Czech Water for All

1. You can contribute with money by filling the following form:

  • Application form

Once you fill in and submit on-line the form the form, print it, sign it and  submit to your HR department!
You can choose from 4 options when filling in the form:

  • Make an ongoing donation through payroll: authorize Atlas Copco to make regular deductions from your pay check on behalf of the Water for All Czech Republic
  • Make an ongoing (monthly) donation from your personal account
  • Make a single one-time donation through payroll: Atlas Copco to make one-time deduction from your following pay check
  • Make a single one-time donation from your personal account

Your payment will go to a special Water for All account. Atlas Copco will provide an amount that is double that of your contribution.

2. You can contribute with labor by joining us in the field

In case of floods we will organize group(s) of people that will go and help in the affected areas. The Water for All coordinators will contact you with detailed instruction at that time.
If we have more Water for All projects, we will try to participate actively in them as well.

FAQ

  • What if I leave the company?
People leaving Atlas Copco can still be part of Water for All. However, the company will not match the donation.
  • What if I want to change the amount of my contribution?
Go again to the on-line form and fill it in, sign it and send it to your HR department (whether you donate through payroll or your personal account).
  • What if I want to stop my contribution?
You may stop your donations at any time by simply sending an Email to water4all@cz.atlascopco.com (whether you donate through payroll or your personal account). Please be aware that it may take up to 3 weeks to process your request.
  • Is my donation tax deductible?
According to the Czech law you can deduct your donation from taxes if it exceeds 1000 CZK per year. However, due to the legal and administrative complexity, Water for All Czech Republic is considered to be a project, rather than a charity organization. Therefore your contribution cannot be considered as tax deductible donation.
