OUR STORY / Our story
Our planet has enough fresh water for everyone. Despite this, around 800 million people still don’t have access to clean water. This is where Water for All wants to get involved and make a difference.
Water for All is very dear to the hearts of our members. It is a non-profit organization that was started in 1984 by a group of philanthropic employees at Atlas Copco in Sweden.
Water for All is the Atlas Copco Group’s main community engagement project. The company doubles the donations coming from its employees and does what it can to support the local organizations’ work to collect donations and to spread the message about Water for All.
We partner with non-political, non-profit organizations as we don’t do any work ourselves out in the field. We have no employees, but work instead in our various country organizations on a voluntary basis. Each local Water for All organization selects its own projects to donate money to. Of course, each project must be about water and contribute to providing clean water to people in need.
Access to clean drinking water changes lives. This is especially true for women and children, in particular girls. It changes everyday life, ultimately leading to the development of new social structures and over time, transformed societies.
