Clean water is a human right

Water for All - Clean water is a human right New

Founded in 1984

Water for All is very dear to the hearts of our members. It is a non-profit organization that was started in 1984 by a group of philanthropic employees at Atlas Copco in Sweden. From the very start there was a conviction that there must be a way of helping people in need to gain access to clean water, as clean water in turn is the foundation for a better life. Learn more about our history here.

Our guiding principle is “Clean water is a human right”. Today, more than thirty years later, we can proudly say that we have around thousands of members at Atlas Copco companies all around the world. Together we have helped close to 2 million people gain access to clean drinking water and sanitation. Presently, we have local Water for All representation in more than 50 countries.

Clean water should be accessible to everyone

Our planet has enough fresh water for everyone. Despite this, around 650 million people still don’t have access to clean water and more than 2 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation. This has major implications. Each day, nearly 700 children die due to preventable water and sanitation-related diarrhoeal diseases. In fact, more people die from dirty water and poor sanitary conditions, than through war and violence. This is where Water for All wants to get involved and make a difference.
